told ya comic book movies ain't dead yet...

Another Neo-Propaganda graphic novel movie anyone?

Comic book writer Mark Millar is close to becoming a Hollywood cottage industry. His current Image comic series with Tony Harris, War Heroes has been picked up by Sony for Michael DeLuca to produce. Tak silap aku, mamat ni la yang buat 21, Boogie Nights dengan Seven.

Sony Studio's who owned Columbia Pictures is currently seeking a writer to adapt the books, which revolve around 'an experimental military program that gives ordinary soldiers superpowers. When a small group of recruits break off to use these powers for a criminal enterprise, a hero rises from their ranks to prevent catastrophic results.' As the comic is just out for only up to issue #2 thus far, here's how i describe the story: 'War Heroes' is set in a dystopian future where the American Empire has bankrupted itself on ceaseless military conflicts and World War 3 will be fought with super-powered G.I.s. In the story, a group of these super soldiers employ the drugs that give them powers to pursue criminal ends. I guess this announcement spoilt a bit of the plot, eh? No wonder he wants this as ULTIMATES 3. The current run by Jeph Loeb is not up to par despite the fact that semua orang suka Joe Mad yang lukis komik tu. I say, Mark Millar should have done justice for ULTIMATES 3.

Tapi pikir-pikir balik, tak keluar la movienya nanti ye tak?!

Chaiss!

Reports also stated that several studios had been vying for the property, after the success of Universal's adaptation of Millar's Wanted this year, which currently has a sequel in the works. Angelina Jolie is out, Halle Berry is next kot? Hope so la, harap dia cast Eminem sekali just to stay loyal to the book. Kah-ha-hah! Millar's Marvel Icon series Kick-Ass just began filming with director Matthew Vaughn. Nic Cage is in it.

Millar will be an executive produce War Heroes, along with Zach Schiff Abrams.
